Real vs Replica
Nike Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 Stussy Fossil

This Nike branded Stussy pair was released in April 2020, and given the lucrative profit margins, have since been a popular target for replica versions.

Shoe label – the code shows this pair was made in Vietnam. The label also deviates from the regular style and adopts a stitched method instead. The letter ‘Q’ in the product code on the real shoe should not see the line cut through the circle like the replica ‘Q’

The back of this insole is a sky blue, and a horizontal glue pattern covers approximately 2/3 of the surface. The replica version skips this detail and does not use glue on the back of its insole.

Insole – the rim of the perforation mark is quite rough on the real version, which the replica version has deliberately smoothed out. Made in Vietnam shoes often have dense and long stitches, yet the replica has random inconsistent stitches.

This insole should be of a plush, fuzzy material, not a smooth and bright one like the replica.

Shoe box – this pair has a brand new, uniquely designed tag on the shoe box to mark the collaboration. The real barcode has two groups of five numbers that are close together. In this case, the numbers on the replica version are too far apart.

Editor’s note: this comparison only applies to this special collab pair, and characteristics may still vary depending on manufacture date and authentication method.
