Real vs Replica

adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Core Black Red

Released in November 2016, this classic Yeezy is quite a distinctive one from newer generations. We discuss how to differentiate between real and replica Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Core Black Red below.

adidas' inside labels during 2015-16 had a different layout. The lower horizontal line of the letter "F" in the real shoe is just above the middle of the letter "R". On the replica shoe, the lower horizontal line in "F" is level with the the middle of letter "R".

Another giveaway - the forward slash for "1/3" should be longer than the slash in "1/2". This is usually not the case in replicas.

The product code on the real shoe shows the "9" and "6" printed stuck together. In the replica, they are wide apart. (This applies to other numbers as well.)

The "adidas" text under the QR code is different on the older label. Each letter is printed close together, with the registered trademark symbol right above the letter "S" but not touching it.

To authenticate the insole, the threads used should be thin yet sturdy. Replicas use thick threads that are loose and make "hoop" stitches, as shown in the red circle above. A slightly different colored insole does not necessarily mean the shoe is fake, as it could be a sign of natural discoloration over time.

The bottom of the shoe is also a marker. Real Yeezy Boosts have "bumpy particles" with a textured feel that make up the rubber sole while the replica has a smooth rubber sole. This is a feature that most replicas do not pay attention to.

We won't disclose all the details here to prevent replicas from catching up. If you have questions or a pair that needs authenticating, head over to the LEGIT app where our sneaker experts can get back to you.
