Real vs Replica
Jordan 1 Retro High Off-White University Blue
Today's REAL VS REPLICA op-ed: AJ1 Retro Jordan 1 Retro High Off-White University Blue (AQ0818-148).
At first glance, the "AIR" typography on both the real and replica are almost identical, from font, font size, to printing. Upon closer inspection, you can find that on the real product, the word "AIR" has a sophisticated, matte finish. The replica uses a different ink, which gives it a shinier finish.
On the real shoe, the orange stitching detail on the Swoosh is tight and clean. The replica on the other hand has a looser stitching, which may have been the result of a lighter pressure applied on the sewing machine. The perforation is also less defined.
The back of the insole on the real shoe uses a translucent glue, whereas the replica's gives off a yellow tinge. This is characteristic of cheaper, lesser quality glue that replica manufacturers use to cut costs (and are also toxic for the environment!).
Lastly, the insole on the replica uses a different material which is darker and rougher. In the real shoe, the insole is more textured and comfortable to the touch.
