Real vs Replica

Nike Air Max 97 Shanghai Kaleidoscope

Famous for its cloud and skyscraper references and Shanghai-only release, is none other than the Nike Air Max 97 Shanghai Kaleidoscope (CI508-400). Read on and learn how to tell between real and replica versions.

The inside label on this particular replica is almost identical to the real shoe except for one detail, the method of attachment. While the real label is fully glued on to the shoe tongue, the replica only has glue on four sides of the label, creating a "bubble" in the centre that is detached from the shoe tongue.

This particular Air Max does not use glue on its insole. When comparing the back of the insoles, we can see that the replica "NIKE" logo is bigger and was printed using a different template, and each letter ended up being too widely spaced apart. The letters are also less defined, to the point that the "N" almost looks like an H.

The replica also uses a cheaper cotton material for the insole, whereas the real shoe has a velvet insole.

To prevent replicas from catching up we won't disclose all the details here. Have a pair you're unsure about? Head over to LEGIT APP and get in touch with our expert Authenticators to find out more.
