Real vs Replica
adidas Yeezy Boost 700 Wave Runner Solid Grey
Initially introduced at the Yeezy Season 5 runway show, the Yeezy Boost 700 Wave Runner Solid Grey (B77571) by Kanye West and adidas was dropped without warning in 2017, and is famously known for being one of the first dad shoes (as well as most coveted). Highlight details include eye-catching neon pops of color and a bulky midsole.
A side by side real vs. replica comparison shows a few slip-ups on the inside label of the replica. First, the horizontal lines above and beneath the country abbreviations are printed too close to the text, particularly as letters "FR" on the real shoe tend to be further away from the lines. MALE indicates the shoe is an overseas product, and the forward dash on the replica label is slanted differently. The bottom left adidas logo should have clear, defined letters and in this case, the replica has printed the letters too thick and close together, making the logo look smudged.
The midsole is a key check point during authentication. This Yeezy midsole is similar to a D Rose's, with an exposed Boost circle. The circle should be uniform and replicas might accidentally use oval or flat circles here. Another one to look for is the material used for the midsole. The real shoe has a layered, sturdy midsole, while the replica has a shiny, smooth one.
To check the shoe box, examine the numbers of the barcode. They should be printed nice and round, whereas the replica uses a slimmer or lighter font. U and S in US /U and K in UK should have the same spacing, not too far apart, and not stuck together. The head and body of the symbol on the top left should also only be slightly apart - this is quite often overlooked.
The Yeezy Boost 700 might also have a different marking criteria, depending on where they were manufactured, meaning there is no one size fits all checking process.
