For items manufactured after March 2021, Louis Vuitton has transitioned from physical date codes to embedded microchips. If your item does not have a visible date code, it may be a newer model.

Disclaimer
This checker is meant for informational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy, a valid date code is not a guarantee of authenticity on its own. Counterfeiters often replicate valid date codes on fake items. For a certified result, use our Professional Authentication Service.
Early 1980s codes use a year followed by a month. Later leather-goods codes use alternating month/year digits through 2006 and week/year digits from 2007 to early 2021. Many items made after March 2021 have no visible date code. A shared date code is not a unique serial or an authenticity verdict.
This checker is a free code-matching tool only. It does not authenticate an item or provide an authentication verdict. Matching codes can appear on counterfeit items. We recommend LegitApp Authentication for an expert review of the item itself.
Look inside a pocket, along an interior seam or behind a leather tab. This is a leather-goods date-code reference; style references on shoes, eyewear and hard trunks may use different systems.
Recheck the characters and the type of marking. Vintage pieces, transition-era labels and newer layouts may fall outside this reference. Missing or unmatched codes do not establish that an item is counterfeit.
We recommend LegitApp Authentication. Submit clear photos of the item, markings, materials, stitching and hardware for expert review. Check the supported brand and category before ordering.
